Travel better
A guide to making a bigger impact with a smaller footprint

Traveling can give us strong impressions and wonderful experiences, but for many, the climate footprint and the negative consequences of our travels can also give us a hint of a guilty conscience.

As individuals, flying far and often is one of the worst things we do for the climate. In a time when glaciers are melting, sea levels are rising and extreme weather is becoming increasingly wild, we cannot continue to travel in the way we do today.

Insightfully and with great commitment, Trygve Sunde Kolderup explains how we can travel more gently and climate-friendly. Through inspiring examples, he shows what we should think about when planning our next trips – whether for work or vacation.

We should not stop traveling, but we must change the way we travel. Because if we travel better, it is possible to have great experiences with a smaller footprint.

"The book is a superb guide to what we can actually do, and not least how we should travel – with good concrete examples of why tourism is essential for both culture and nature in many places around the world."

Runar Larsen, Reisemagasinet Vagabond

"An inspirational book with lots of good tips on how we can have even better trips and travel experiences if we just travel a little smarter. Young readers will love the book, older readers will learn a lot."

"Through storytelling and interview subjects, Kolderup highlights good examples for imitation and inspiration."

Mette S. Fjeldheim, reiselykke.com

"When I first read about the project, I thought, is it possible to write something other than obvious things about that topic? And now? I don't have many books with so many underlines and exclamation points in the margins."

Stein P. Aasheim

"The book 'Travel Better' may not offer a simple solution to how to travel more environmentally friendly on vacation. But it does provide important insight into the massive greenwashing that the tourism industry is responsible for."
